Here at Marithyme breeding our Golden Retrievers is a labor of love. It is never routine. Every litter produced by a Marithyme girl has been well thought out and researched in advance to ensure longevity, health and temperament. This never gets dull to me as I adore what I do. The Marithyme pet puppy buyer is expected to fulfill their duties with equal commitment to the Marithyme puppy they adopt from us. This includes seriously researching the new puppy’s diet, which vaccine protocol their new puppy will be vaccinated with, understanding our spay/neuter sales agreement as well as making time daily to train and exercise their new ward.

Marithyme Golden puppies are carefully placed in the homes we have approved. I don’t sell our puppies to pet homes by sex or color or size. It is my goal to match the buyer up to the correct puppy within the breeding. All puppies are unique and have their own personalities, drive, energy level and ability. They are as unique as the folks who contact us! Therefore, my mission is to find lovely suitable homes for a good number of puppies long before the birth of our litter. Our puppies are not sold on anything other then my experience, my reputation as a quality Golden Retriever breeder and the type and personality of the dam to be and our Marithyme crew. There is no “first or last” placement in the way I place the puppies. I do take into consideration each buyer’s preferences and I do include those preferences into my evaluation of placement. If we find there are a few puppies in which I can place in a particular buyer’s home, I give the buyer a choice between said puppies. I want to insure the buyer I would never place an athletic puppy with a senior couple as well as not place a couch potato puppy with an athletic family or person. There is a range of personalities in every litter from the “clingy” puppy to the independent puppy. If you work during the day, a “clingy” puppy would panic each and every time you were out of its sight. An independent puppy would not be much fun to a house hold with children. Choosing the correct puppy only works if I the breed has enough time to get to know each buyer’s needs. That does not come about from a quick phone call and rushed home visit. I have designed a Marithyme Yahoo Group that I invite all potential puppy buyers to join. This group is a wonderful way for me as well as the puppy buyer to connect and interact. The buyer can browse the Marithyme Yahoo history through the search engine and read our past and present posts as well as ask questions of myself and the other members of the group (which are nearly all Marithyme puppy buyers). So the new puppy buyer always has a link to myself or other puppy buyers within our group to assist them over the course of the pup’s growth. We discuss diet, which foods work or which foods to avoid, how often to feed and where, what vaccines to give, at what age and which to avoid. Crate training methods, which crates to purchase, where to place them what size to use, and many quality ideas on house training and basic obedience. It’s a lovely group and we all have the love of a Marithyme puppy in common!

The Marithyme Golden puppy you might be purchasing from us has been raised on a raw diet of meat and bones. I understand that feeding a raw diet is not for everyone. I DO NOT insist my puppy buyer’s continue to feed a raw diet. The way you feed your puppy is your own personal choice. I do insist that each puppy buyer research the diet their puppy will be fed and this will be discussed before your puppy leaves to its new home. Today there are any numbers of quality dog foods in which the puppy buyer can consider. This topic is often discussed in our group and once you are invited into our yahoo group, you may research our findings and the opinions on puppy foods on the market today.
