Paddington, in my opinion was one of the world’s sweetest golden boys. He was an easy going individual. Not over eager but when I trained with him, he put out all he had to please me. Padder’s came to us as a second thought. I was purchasing his sister Emmy to show and breed.
My family fell in love with his puppy photos. We would received up-dates weekly about the litter I was to choose from. The photos of the bitch puppies I would be placed out for my family to view. I would put the bitch puppy photos out and the dogs to the left of the grouping. Each time, my boys and husband pulled Paddington’s picture from the group and asked if we could have this pup? No, we are looking for a bitch pup and they would all tell me how sweet his pictures were. Every week!
So once I knew which little girl I had chosen, I phone the breeder to let her know. On the prodding of my family, I asked the breeder ( Linda J Walker) was the male pup also spoken for? No he wasn’t...
And so we took two!
So, I guess it was just meant to be. And the theme for that litter was "cream". He just had to be Sunapee’s Creme de la Creme! And he lived his life being top golden in our hearts. He was the best snuggler and would never greet a caller without bringing a gift in his mouth. He loved to bark on command. And was a good woower (we called it Chewbaca noises).
Paddington was tested and accepted at stud to CCI (Canine Companions for Independence) and DGI (Guide Dogs International). This made us very proud and we attended a few of his off-spring’s graduation ceremonies
But most weekdays after school and weekends you would find our Paddington happily in tow at any number of the soccer fields in Southern Ca. During his life span he was the mascot to our son's soccer teams or just hanging out and enjoying the festivities of the day (which included many oooos and ahhhhs and belly rubs from passers by)!
He is dearly missed in our home. We were blessed..
